This past August, Rhianne posted on her website seeking participants for her annual photo swap, eventually she would pair the participants with photographers from all over the World. My photo partner was Justin from South Africa. This was my first time participating in the swap so taking pictures to send to someone you’ve never interacted with was a tad unnerving and exciting all at the same time. 🙂 For myself, I wanted to capture some of Michigan’s splendor yet I’m not good with landscape style photos so I’m hoping my photos turned out ok. Justin sent a note with his film stating he used a toy camera, which if you’ve ever used a Holga or Diana type of camera you understand how simple the camera is but how easy it is to mess up the exposure at the same time. Loved all of Justin’s photos. Getting to see a part of the world I have dreamed about visiting, not in a magazine but by someone who lives there made me feel like I was just there and happy.
Above is my favorite image from Justin’s photos. Love the way the light shines through the trees, gorgeous!! Below are the rest of the images from Justin roll of film. Enjoy and make sure you check out Rhianne and Justin’s websites!
